The Panorama is the historic circular building that houses the canvas painted in 1912 by Louis Dumoulin, the painter whose Panorama du tour du monde was presented at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900.
The memorial is the contemporary building entirely underground, built in 2015, that houses the museum.
The purpose of the study was to create an underground connection in the Panorama annex to link the two buildings with a staircase and an elevator.
