DTA - architectural design and technology
Structural calculation courses in the 1st and 2nd year of the bachelor's degree
Program Reform, responsible for the field "Materials, Structure and Construction" (Bachelor and Master). Coordination of structural analysis courses focused on activating knowledge in the practice of the project. This is in order to develop, in the student, an intuitive understanding of the supporting framework of constructions.
Design training for 4th and 5th year students (BAA option – building, architectural planning)
Working group on science and technology subject chain issues: audit of the current situation at the Institute and outlook.
DTA - architectural design and technology
Course in stability and soil mechanics in the 2nd year and resistance of materials (concrete) in the 3rd year (theory and workshops).

Sustainable Building Training - Circular Economy The robustness of raw earth structures. What philosophy to adopt in the context of the energy transition. The earth material, its implementation techniques and the engineer's tools.
Sustainable Building Training - Circular Economy Structural design of raw earth structures. Training intended for building and city professionals, active in BCR and more specifically: architects and engineers, professional project owners, contractors. Training cycle framework Raw earth is a local, raw and reversible resource. In this sense, its use is part of a circular economy logic. As part of this training, we will try to give you the technical information necessary for its integration into your projects, for various applications, from the supporting structure to the finishing.

Raw earth and contemporary construction in Brussels Physical and structural characteristics of rammed earth Raw earth is a building material traditionally used in Belgium, just like lime or wood. The industrial revolution sounded the death knell for its large-scale use, but due to its natural properties, durability and circularity, raw earth is now coming back to the forefront. • How can we integrate this material into our contemporary constructions? How can we remove the preconceptions related to raw earth? • How can we adapt its use to current standards and legislation? How can we integrate it into specifications? • What are the physical and structural characteristics of such a material? What are the characteristics of a construction site using raw earth?

TERRA AWARD Conference-meeting #3 Building with raw earth: utopias and realities Construction with raw earth in Belgium today encounters certain obstacles: cultural but also economic and legal. Adjustments are necessary in the regulations to give this ecological technique every chance of contributing to a sustainable future. Will a debate between political decision-makers and lobbyists make it possible to outline possible solutions?
Organization of the "Raw Earth Week from April 11 to 15, 2016 What are the challenges for earth architecture today?" Two WORKSHOPS for LOCI STUDENTS A workshop on handling raw earth, led by amàco, and a workshop on implementing rammed earth, led by LOCI teachers. Two public CONFERENCES Monday 04/11/2016 - 6:00 p.m., the conference (in English) was held by Edward Yan Yung Ng, professor at the School of Architecture of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, on the renovation of earthen villages in areas heavily damaged by earthquakes. Thursday 04/14/2016 - 6:00 p.m., the conference (in French) was jointly held by Thomas Granier (AVN - Association de la Voute Nubienne) and Martin Rauch (Lehm Ton Erde). AVN participates in the (re)development of earth architecture in Sahelian Africa and has enabled the emergence of an offer, the profession of craftsman-mason, and an autonomous market. Lehm Ton Erde has unrivaled expertise in rammed earth technology and has opened up new perspectives for its use in the European context through the completion of exemplary projects and their collaboration with internationally renowned architects such as Herzog & de Meuron. A research SEMINAR for LOCI TEACHERS AND RESEARCHERS Friday 15/04/2016 was devoted to a research seminar on the use of raw earth in construction. The objective is to crystallize the converging interests present within the LOCI Faculty and to boost research initiatives in the field in partnership with the Belgian sector and foreign stakeholders. A series of external experts are invited and the day will be hosted by Arnaud Evrard, a qualified researcher within the Architecture and Climate research team of the LOCI Faculty.
